Design, modelling & 3D printing in Cape Town

From an idea or sketch to a CAD design, a print-ready 3D model and a finished FDM-printed part in the right engineering plastic — all handled in one place.

Why 3D print your part?

  • No moulds or tooling costs
  • Change the design between versions
  • Complex shapes at no extra set-up cost
  • Economical for one-offs and small batches

What we print

Services and typical applications

CAD Design & Drawing

You don't need a 3D file to get started. Bring us an idea, a hand sketch, measurements, photos or the part itself, and we'll turn it into a dimensioned design that can be reviewed, adjusted and manufactured.

Typical applications

  • Designs from ideas and sketches
  • 2D technical drawings
  • Measuring up sample parts
  • Design changes and improvements

3D Modelling

We build 3D models with printing in mind — wall thicknesses, tolerances, orientation and how the part will be loaded — so the first print is as close as possible to what you need.

Typical applications

  • Print-ready models
  • Recreating broken or discontinued parts
  • Fixing and adapting existing files
  • Fit and assembly checks

Prototyping

Holding a part tells you things a screen can't. Print a prototype, check how it fits and handles, adjust the CAD and print the next version — without the cost and lead time of moulds or machining.

Typical applications

  • Form and fit checks
  • Design iterations
  • Concept and presentation models
  • Pre-production samples

Jigs & Fixtures

Jigs and fixtures are often one-off shapes that are slow and expensive to machine. Printed versions can be made to follow your part's exact profile, are light to handle and easy to re-make when the design changes.

Typical applications

  • Assembly and alignment jigs
  • Drilling and marking guides
  • Inspection and holding fixtures
  • Workstation organisers

Functional Components

Many everyday engineering parts are a good fit for 3D printing, especially in low volumes. We'll talk through how the part is loaded and where it will be used so we can suggest a suitable material and print orientation.

Typical applications

  • Brackets and mounts
  • Clips, spacers and guides
  • Cable and hose management
  • Custom hardware

Enclosures & Replacement Parts

Need a box built around a specific circuit board, or a plastic part that's no longer available? Send us a CAD file — or, for replacements, photos and measurements of the original — and we'll tell you what's possible.

Typical applications

  • Electronics enclosures
  • Sensor and control housings
  • Replacement knobs, covers and clips
  • Discontinued plastic parts

Short Production Runs

When you need tens of parts rather than thousands, printing avoids mould costs and lets you change the design between batches. Tell us your quantity and we'll quote the run.

Typical applications

  • Bridge production before tooling
  • Limited editions
  • Spares and service parts
  • Product launches and pilots

Custom & Complex Designs

3D printing builds parts layer by layer, so internal channels, organic shapes and one-off personalised designs are often no harder to make than a simple block. Bring us your idea, image or file.

Typical applications

  • Complex geometries and lattices
  • Personalised products
  • Scale and display models
  • Gifts and one-offs

How it works

How to request a quote

  1. Step 1: Send your enquiry

Upload a 3D file, or describe the part and send a sketch or photo. Tell us the quantity and where it will be used.

  2. Step 2: Design review

We check the file for printability and suggest a material, orientation and any changes that would improve the part.

  3. Step 3: Quote

You receive a quote for the part, material and quantity. Nothing is printed until you approve it.

  4. Step 4: Production

Once you approve the quote, your parts are printed, cleaned up and packed.

  5. Step 5: Delivery

Parts are couriered to you anywhere in South Africa — or ask us about collection in Bellville.

Before you enquire

What helps us quote accurately

The more we know about the part, the better we can advise. Don't worry if you don't have everything — just send what you have.
  • A file, sketch or photoSTL, STEP, OBJ, 3MF or DWG if you have one — otherwise a sketch, photos or measurements are fine.
  • What the part doesWhat it attaches to, the loads it carries and whether it sits in heat, sun or moisture.
  • Quantity and timingHow many you need and when. Photos and measurements help for replacement parts.

Only have an idea, sketch or broken part?

We can help develop the design.

  • Send a photo
    of your part
  • Upload a sketch
    or file (STL, STEP, etc.)
  • Tell us what you need
and we'll take it from there
